"parents have a 1999 chevy lumina, gas gauge doesnt red correctly. was wondering if there is a relay or something else that would cause this. never no work done on fuel pump or anything of the sort so i dont believe anything is bent , never any problems with fuel pressure or anything just the guage dont read right, any ideas"

"there is no relay the problem you have sound like the float is sticking on the slider rod inside your gas tank you can get a good fuel system cleaner to run in it and it should fix your problem the best fuel sytem cleaner i have found is called "LUCAS" you can buy it at autozone for about five bucks."
